This place is just ok. We got the tacos here and they were on the larger side, which was a pleasant surprise. They're not like little street tacos. They put beans on some of the tacos, which we could have done without but didn't mind too much. We were a little disappointed that there's only one salsa to choose from. I appreciated their system of making you order outside before entering, to ensure you get a table without having to hover. This place gets busy so expect a small line even in off hours.

Supposedly la taqueria is one of the best burrito spots in the mission district. It seems like the mission burrito style has no rice which I've never tried before! I've seen this place online a few times so I was expecting a long wait in line. I went about 15 mins after they opened and it was not really busy at all. I think I have the parade to thank for that! I was able to order almost immediately and my food was ready pretty quickly. I ordered the carne asada burrito and it was really tasty! I'd love to find another location to compare it to but overall it was really good!

The quesadilla with cabeza and guac has got to be one of the best things I've eaten this year. The tortilla is crispy and the meat is so soft and nicely fatty. 100% recommend this sf staple to anyone. I will say, there were some boney bits inside the cabeza that were hard and had to be spit out but honestly that is a small price to pay for how tasty it was.

La Taqueria has the best tacos I've ever had! I'm glad their business survived the pandemic and continues to flourish. My family and I have been coming here for decades and it never disappoints. Our favorite go-to are the crispy carnitas tacos. They are huge, and two is enough to keep me satisfied throughout the day. The crispy pork pairs well with the huge scoop of guacamole and pico de gallo. If it's your first time here, the carnitas tacos are the way to go. For a whole, they only accepted cash payments, but recently began taking card in the last few years likely due to the pandemic. They also seemed to recently implement the seating rule. You now have to order before you can be seated by the staff. This can lead to long lines if you're trying to go during peak hours. Once you are seated and order, however, the food comes out quickly. We received 20 tacos in less than 20 minutes! Overall, La Taqueria is one of my favorite spots in the city. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a casual, yet delicious, meal.

How have I never been here!! This place is an institution and now I know why. The line will always be long and intimidating but it goes pretty fast. You need to order before finding a seat. They are known for their mission burritos which means no rice in the burrito. Everyone said to order a burrito el dorado style which means they grill the burrito so it's a bit crispy on the outside. I ordered the carne asada which I usually find dry, but not here! The meat was actually very tender. The tortilla was thin and the the burrito was stuffed. The mango Fresca was also delicious and refreshing. Lives up to all the hype!
